Resident Issues

The Section 8 Contract Administration Resident Issues hotline: 800-314-9320, is available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. 

It is the responsibility of the owner/agent to address resident health and safety concerns, as well as general management issues. THDA becomes involved when it appears the owner/agent is not fulfilling this responsibility. THDA staff will gather information, assess the situation, and follow up on each call, e-mail, fax or letter.

THDA does not process complaints in instances where:

  • Legal proceedings have been initiated by either party
  • Attorneys are involved
  • The party is not on the lease, unless the individual has written power of attorney
  • Disputes involving third parties
  • Interpretation of local laws and ordinances are needed
