NASHVILLE, Tn. (November 12, 2025) — The First Tennessee Development District (FTDD) was awarded $540,000 from the Tennessee Housing Development Agency’s (THDA) HOME Homeownership Rehab program on Wednesday, Nov. 12 to rehabilitate four homes in Johnson County.

“Providing safe, decent housing is important for all Tennesseans, and with the help of these HOME funds, Johnson County will be able to ensure these residents can remain in their homes while improving their quality of life,” THDA Executive Director Ralph M. Perrey said.

All HOME programs administered by THDA are federally funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) HOME Investments and partnerships program. These funds are subsequently awarded by THDA as grants to local governments and nonprofits, supporting the creation, preservation and rehabilitation of affordable rental and single-family housing.

“We at the First Tennessee Development District are very appreciative to THDA for the much-needed HOME funds to help low-income homeowners in our region,” said Rene’ Mann, FTDD’s housing program manager. “These funds fulfill a critical need by ensuring homeowners can make the necessary repairs, and in some cases rebuild their homes. These repairs preserve the home’s integrity and maximize its longevity, allowing homeowners to live in their homes safely, independently, and comfortably. We appreciate the partnership with THDA and look forward to working with them for many years to come.”
