Dec. 17, 2024 – A grant from Tennessee Housing Development Agency will help Community Housing Partnership move to a new location in Franklin that will provide office space for the nonprofit and supportive housing and services for its clients.

CHP received a $300,000 grant through THDA’s Capacity Building Program to renovate a former assisted living facility that will house Community Housing Partnership’s staff. The facility will also provide housing and related services for low-income elderly and disabled adults. CHP was one of five organizations statewide to receive a grant.

“These capacity building funds will help organizations like Community Housing Partnership make improvements to their operations that will allow them to more efficiently serve their clients and the communities where they are located,” THDA Executive Director Ralph Perrey said.

The Capacity Building Program is funded through THDA’s Tennessee Housing Trust Fund and is designed to assist nonprofit housing development organizations across Tennessee build their space capacity in order to undertake housing development and other related activities. Funding can be used to help organizations construct, acquire, and/or rehabilitate office or program delivery space as well as increase agency capacity in terms of strategic and/or succession management planning.

“Without the grant funding we wouldn’t be able to do the rehabilitation of this new office space,” CHP CEO Wayne Weaver said. “We’re grateful for this grant. This will provide us with a permanent home and allow us to better serve our clients."

Weaver said the new location will allow CHP staff to administer programs to clients living in the facility. The renovation and move should be complete by late 2025, he said.
