NASHVILLE, Tn. (June 10, 2025) — The Tennessee Housing Development Agency (THDA) awarded $600,000 to Springboard Landings from the Tennessee Housing Trust Fund (THTF) on Tuesday, June 10. THTF grants are awarded to eligible non-profit partners, public housing authorities, development districts and local communities to address the housing needs of the most underserved Tennesseans.

According to the Tennessee Disability Coalition, a household with a disability cannot afford the median rental unit in any county in the state. Tennesseans with disabilities and aging Tennesseans comprise 48% of the state's population requiring affordable housing, totaling 104,373 individuals. THDA and partners like Springboard Landings work to ensure adequate affordable housing continue to be a priority for communities in need.

“THDA is proud to help address the critical need for affordable housing units for all Tennesseans through the THTF,” said Ralph Perry, Executive Director of THDA. “The work Springboard Landings is bringing to the Bellevue area is a great step forward to ensuring those with a higher need for adequate affordable housing are able to receive it.”

The new project will be located on Coley Davis Road in Bellevue. Development plans include a 24 unit building that will include 19 units dedicated to adults with developmental disabilities and five units for residents without disabilities, including a salaried resident services coordinator. The building design includes common spaces for supportive programs and activities to foster a vibrant community for all residents.

"Springboard Landings is honored to partner with THDA in developing our flagship building. We are excited to give adults with developmental disabilities an opportunity to live independently and build community in the Bellevue Neighborhood. This opportunity would not be possible without THDA's Housing Trust Fund Program,” said Elizabeth Grapentine, Executive Director of Springboard Landings.

THTF supports several initiatives related to affordable housing in Tennessee. The initiatives include a capacity building program, the emergency repair program, the home modification and ramp program, rebuild and recover and the development gap subsidy program.
