Nominees to be recognized by THDA at conference

December 16, 2021 – The Tennessee Housing Development Agency has released its list of nominees for the 2022 Tennessee’s Best Awards.

Winners in the five award categories will be announced at the Tennessee Housing Conference held March 1-2, 2022. Categories for this year’s awards include: Regional Impact Award, Housing Leadership Award, Neighborhood Stabilization Award, Legacy Award, and Director’s Award.

The Tennessee Housing Conference, managed by THDA, offers opportunities for professionals from every facet of the housing industry to connect with one another, share best practices, attend educational panels, meet with vendors and exhibitors, and explore how to better meet the housing needs of Tennessee families. The Tennessee Housing Conference will be held March 1-2, 2022, in Nashville at the Music City Center. Registration for the event is open at: www.tnhousingconference.com.

The nominations are as follows:

Regional Impact Award

  • MDHA/Giarratana: Curb Victory Hall Apartments (Middle Tenn.)
  • Urban Housing Solutions: 26th & Clarksville Phase III (Middle Tenn.)
  • Volunteer Ministry Center: Caswell Manor (East Tenn.)

Housing Leadership Award

  • Colleen Dudley, Habitat for Humanity Tennessee
  • Stephen A. O’Connor, Mortgage Bankers Association (West Tenn.)
  • Keith Turbett, First Horizon Bank (West Tenn.)

Neighborhood Stabilization Award

  • Shelbyville Housing Authority: Highland Court II (Middle Tenn.)
  • CMS TN Communities: Livingston Apartments (Middle Tenn.)
  • The Works Inc.: The Renaissance at Steele (West Tenn.)
  • Jackson Housing Authority: Kingsfield North (West Tenn.)

Legacy Award

  • Carr Hagan, LHP Developments (East Tenn.)
  • David Hayes, Hayes & Associates (East Tenn.)
  • Jocelyn Plough Rudner, The Plough Foundation (West Tenn.)

Director’s Award

  • McCormick, Baron & Salazar (West Tenn.)
  • Sernorma Mitchell, State of TN HUD Director

The Tennessee’s Best awards were created by THDA to honor outstanding individuals and organizations whose contributions on behalf of affordable housing inspire others to serve Tennesseans’ housing needs. These organizations or individuals can be nominated for producing, designing, developing, financing or promoting housing policy in the state of Tennessee.
