The RentCafe Resident Portal is a great tool to help manage your household information with Tennessee Housing Development Agency.  You can use the portal to:

Update your contact information
Review your income, assets, and other household information.

FAQ

How do I register for the Resident Portal?  You should have received a letter in the mail with your registration code. Once on the portal, select the blue hyperlink that says, "Click Here to Register". Enter you registration code and follow the prompts to complete the registration process. If you did not receive a letter with the registration code, you will need to contact the rental assistance specialist assigned to your case to receive your registration code. 

What do I do if I forgot my password? From the Resident Portal login screen, select the blue hyperlink that says, "Forgot Password?". Follow the prompts to reset your password.

I have locked myself out of my account. What do I do? From the Resident Portal login screen, select the blue hyperlink that says, "Forgot Password?". Follow the prompts to reset your password.

Interim Change - RentCafe 

If you have not received a letter with a registration code and need to report a change to your income or household compostion, please contact your specialist for instructions on registering for the online portal.   

Waiting List Portal - RentCafe

In order to be considered for a Waiting List, you must login into the RentCafe Applicant portal to complete and submit an application during the Waiting List opening period. 

If it is your first time applying to one of our Waiting Lists, you will need to log in to your RentCafe account during the application period, and the application process will start automatically. You may create a RentCafe account in advance, but you must log in to your account during the application period to complete and submit the application.

If you have applied previously to any of our Waiting Lists, you may update your pre-application, which can be found by selecting the 'Apply or Update Application' button on the Home page of your account, prior to the application period.  However, during the application period, you must log in to your Rentcafe account and update or revise (if necessary) your pre-application, select the Waiting Lists for which you would like to be considered, and submit your application.


How to Create an Online RentCafe Account

THDA requires applicants to have a RentCafe online account.   All prospective Applicants must have a RentCafe account in order to submit pre-applications for Wait Lists. Also, household information can be updated easily through the RentCafe account as circumstances change.

Violence Against Women Act

This optional form protects program applicants, tenants, and program participants in certain HUD programs from being evicted, denied housing assistance, or terminated from housing assistance based on acts of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, or stalking against them. Despite the name of this law, VA WA protection is available to victims of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking, regardless of sex, gender identity, or sexual orientation.
